Mini Crunchwrap Sliders

  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 4 to as appetizer, to as main course 1x

Description

Homemade mini sliders inspired by the fast-food favorite, featuring seasoned beef, crispy tortilla strips, cheese, and fresh toppings wrapped in a pan-fried tortilla shell.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 packet (1 ounce) taco seasoning or 2 tablespoons homemade blend
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 8 small flour tortillas (about 6 inches)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or American cheese
  • 4 flour tortillas, cut into thin strips (for the crispy layer)
  • 2 cups shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomato
  • 1/4 cup diced dill pickle or pickle relish
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise or sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons butter or oil, for pan-frying
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Brown ground beef in skillet over medium-high heat, breaking it up, about 4 to 5 minutes.
  2. Stir in taco seasoning and water; simmer 2 minutes until sauce thickens.
  3. Pan-fry tortilla strips in separate skillet with oil until golden and crispy, about 2 minutes.
  4. Lay out small tortilla and spread thin mayo layer in center.
  5. Layer lettuce, seasoned beef, crispy strips, tomato, pickles, and cheese.
  6. Fold tortilla edges up and over filling, flip seam-side down to seal.
  7. Heat butter or oil in large skillet over medium heat.
  8. Place sliders seam-side down; cook 2 to 3 minutes until golden.
  9. Flip carefully and cook other side 1 to 2 minutes until browned.
  10. Serve immediately while cheese is melty and outside is crunchy.

Notes

Don’t overstuff sliders or filling will leak during cooking; one spoonful per ingredient is plenty. Fry tortilla strips while beef cooks and keep separate to maintain crispiness. Use medium heat to prevent burning outside before cheese melts inside.
