Skillet Honey Garlic Chicken

Description

Tender chicken thighs simmered in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce for an easy one-pan dinner.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken thighs (about 1.5 pounds)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger (optional)
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish
  • Chopped green onions, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season chicken thighs with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Cook chicken for 5–6 minutes per side until golden and 165°F internally.
  4. Remove chicken and set aside on a plate.
  5. Sauté garlic in the skillet for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  6. Stir in honey, soy sauce, vinegar, and ginger.
  7. Simmer sauce for 2 minutes until slightly thickened.
  8. Return chicken and coat thoroughly with sauce.
  9. Cook for 1 minute to heat through.
  10. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions before serving.

Notes

Add red pepper flakes for heat.
Serve over rice or quinoa to absorb the sauce.
Add a splash of water if the refrigerated sauce becomes too thick.
